The Big Buddha is a 45 metre Burmese white jade marble statue perched on Nakkerd Hill at 400 metres elevation, visible from much of southern Phuket island. Construction began in 2004 and continues to be funded entirely by public donations, with many travellers including those on a Phuket package choosing to sponsor inscribed marble tiles. The elevated platform provides sweeping 360 degree views across Chalong Bay, Kata, and Karon, making it one of the top 10 places to visit in Phuket. As this is a sacred site, modest dress is required and sarongs are available at the entrance.

Phuket Old Town is a compact heritage quarter on Phuket island centred around Thalang, Dibuk, and Krabi roads, lined with Sino Portuguese shophouses built between 1850 and 1910 by Hokkien Chinese tin merchants. The pastel facades, shuttered windows, and arched colonnades mirror the architectural style seen in George Town and Macau. Today, the district blends original family run gold shops and herbal pharmacies with trendy cafes, boutiques, and the popular Sunday Walking Street market on Thalang Road from 4 PM to 10 PM. Often included in a Phuket package or explored by travellers visiting Phuket from Bangkok, the Thai Hua Museum and the Peranakan themed Baba Museum provide cultural insight and historical context, making it one of the top 10 places to visit in Phuket.
